FAQ

  • 45 minutes, either in-person or Telehealth.

  • My recommendation is always that we meet weekly for the first three months and re-assess from there. This is in an effort to establish the therapeutic relationship and to really get a sense of who you are, the scope of what brings you to therapy, and how we can best create movement toward your goals. Ultimately though, rather than it being set in stone throughout your treatment, this can be an ongoing conversation based upon the evolution of your needs (whether it is the status of your mental health, finances, etc). If this is not possible for you, please don't hesitate to reach out - this is my recommendation and not a rule. I'm open to brainstorming if it can still amount to the kind of care you deserve.

  • Both. Some clients do exclusively one or the other and some do a mix.

  • In-person sessions are located at:

    851 West 181st Street

    New York, NY 10033

  • Yes. All information you share with me will be kept strictly confidential in accordance with my values as a provider, as well as federal law protecting patients’ privacy. There are some notable exceptions that would legally require me to disclose your information, which we will discuss when we meet.

  • I do not do free consultations. In my experience, I don't find them to be an accurate predictor for whether or not it's going to be a good fit. Depending on how you feel, it might seem like a jump to make an appointment and I respect that. My hope is that we give ourselves an honest try.

  • $200 for individual sessions, $250 for couples, and $300 for families (3 or more family members).

  • The short answer is, "it depends." It in no way depends on who YOU are but upon schedule availability. If you are in need, it is always worth reaching out and letting me know your situation. Even if we can’t make something work right now, I can help refer you or we can make a plan to meet down the line.

  • I am an out-of-network provider and accept out-of-network benefits. I am currently not working in-network with any insurance panel.

  • I will submit the insurance claims for you. You pay On Purpose Therapy in full for your session, I submit the claim for you, and your insurance will reimburse you directly in accordance with your plan.

  • Prior to scheduling, we want to make sure that you are in-the-know regarding your benefits so that there are no surprises. There is always a customer service number on the back of your insurance card and calling to get clarity on this should not take much time at all. Questions to ask are...

Do I have out-of-network coverage for outpatient psychotherapy?

If so, what is my deductible and have I met any of the amount?

What is my coinsurance? (the percentage of the fee they will cover after deductible is met)

What is the maximum amount covered per session and how many sessions are covered per year?

  • New York.
